Plants & Vases.

This painting started with the idea of changing an old painting of an coffee cup I did not particularly care for and making something new. I had recently watched a TV show on pottery and was inspired to make my own vase through paint. I also experimented with adding cold wax to the paint while smudging background color across the canvas with a rag, created a rustic feel.

This is a painting of a plant named "Gumdrops". I chose this plant because it looked like a strange tiny tree. I painted a close-up point of view and added a sky with pink clouds to make it look like and feel as if it were actual tree size.
